Capital Fringe where they won Best of Fringe, Southern Railroad Theatre Company is bringing DEATH BE NOT LOUD! to San Francisco's Phoenix Theater for it's west coast premiere. Co-produced with 3Girls Theatre Company and Entropy Productions, DEATH BE NOT LOUD! opens November 4, preview November 3. Directed by Wesley Cayabyab, featuring Diana Brown as Red and Susan Jackson as Marion.

In TAKEN, Corrie travels to San Francisco to see if she can identify the body of a young man evicted from his home. Is it her brother? Or just a stranger? Who is responsible for this life that was taken?

OUR MISSION
SRTC’s mission is to bring the true Southern experience through live theatre, "one hush puppy at a time"—from the perspectives of the producers—Susan Jackson, the daughter of a Southern liberal minister and a former Tar Heel, and Diana Brown. Diana was raised by a daughter of Texas and a son of Oklahoma and was baptized in a river at sunset. Our main characters are strong, irrepressible women, facing sudden challenges. (General Sherman, death of a parent, infidelity, etc.) All of the characters in writer, co-producer Jackson’s plays are related by blood or marriage and this family tree is the foundation of our producing calendar, --beginning with HEATHEN, which takes place during the Civil War (a slave and the plantation master fight off General Sherman) and continues to the present day. Jackson’s play HEATHEN was presented in the New Play Lab at the 2016 William Inge Festival.
Southern Railroad works to present new plays at theatre festivals nationwide. Recently returned from the 2016 Capital Fringe where we made our critically acclaimed DC debut. In 2013, we were invited to represent in New York City in Altruistic Theatre Company's Bare Knuckle Theatre Fest, in 2014, we were invited to participate in the Eugene O'Neill Foundation's Eugene O' Neill Festival. Then in 2015 we were invited back to New York City for the Midtown International Theatre Festival’s Midwinter Madness Festival.
We’re drawn to work that emphasizes how underneath it all, we’re the same, human. Join us for some “Comfort Food Entertainment”. We sure hope ya’ll come see, you’re in for a damn good time!”
